The person behind
the systems
Not an agency. Not a faceless platform. Just one person building reliable automation for businesses that want to grow smarter.

Hey, I'm Josh
I'm a software engineer based in Dunedin, New Zealand. My day job involves building AI-powered features into production software used by thousands of people. Outside of work, I'm building Flowstate Forge — helping small and medium businesses access the same kind of value through custom automation.
Why I started Flowstate Forge
Working in software, I get to see firsthand what happens when AI is integrated thoughtfully into the features people use every day — tasks that used to take hours happen in minutes, and people get to focus on the work that actually matters.
That experience got me looking sideways. Small and medium businesses are surrounded by the same opportunity, but most don't have a developer on staff to build it. They're stuck copying data between spreadsheets, writing the same emails, compiling reports by hand — not because better systems don't exist, but because nobody's built one for them.
Flowstate Forge is my answer to that gap. I build custom workflow automations that plug into the tools a business already uses and eliminate the repetitive work that quietly eats their team's time. No off-the-shelf software that almost fits. No vague consulting. Just working systems, purpose-built and maintained.
I'm at the start of this — actively looking for my first clients and building case studies. If your business runs on manual processes that feel like they should be automated by now, I'd genuinely love to talk.
Principles I build by
Outcomes over features
Every system I build is measured by the time it saves and the problems it solves — not by how many bells and whistles it has.
Direct communication
You talk to me. No project managers, no support tiers. When something needs fixing, I fix it.
Built to evolve
Your business will change. I build systems that adapt with you instead of locking you into rigid workflows.
Want to work together?
I'm always open to a conversation about how automation can help your business. No hard sell — just straight talk.
